About Aeria Solutions

Remote sensing experts.
Solution builders. Field-proven.

We don't just buy technology and collect data. We build complete remote sensing solutions - designing the system, developing the protocols, navigating the regulations, and deploying to environments where most operators can't go. Since 2017, Aeria has delivered mission-critical data from Arctic camps to active mine sites, from volcanic summits to open ocean. When you need defensible results in challenging conditions, you need experts who understand the full problem - not just the equipment.

Multi-Platform Integration

We operate across air, water, and ground. Our strength is integration - pulling LiDAR, SONAR, photogrammetry, thermal imaging, ADCP, and ground-based sensors into unified workflows that produce comprehensive, defensible datasets. Need seamless above-and-below-water mapping? We've built the systems to do it. Need multi-sensor campaigns combining aerial surveys with hydrographic transects and RTK ground control? That's our standard operating procedure.

Field-Hardened Operations

We spend months of the year in tents in the Arctic. We've run 30-day deployments on North Baffin Island, conducting BVLOS flights up to 5 km from camp. We've operated in canyons, offshore, on remote rivers, and at legacy mine sites where access is measured in helicopter hours and rafting access. Our teams maintain Wilderness First Aid certification, carry comprehensive emergency response capabilities, and operate with complete self-sufficiency. When support isn't coming, if something goes wrong, we're already equipped to handle it.

Regulatory Expertise and Safety Management

We hold COR-compatible safety documentation and are SECOR certified. Our HSE program aligns with BC OHS Regulation, the Workers Compensation Act, and ISO 45001 standards. Our pilots hold Advanced RPAS certificates and Complex Level 1 certification, and we develop complete SFOC applications for BVLOS, high-altitude, and restricted airspace operations using JARUS SORA methodology.

Protocol Development and Specialized Applications

When standard procedures don't exist, we create them. We've developed species-specific disturbance protocols for narwhal, pinniped, and seabird monitoring programs. We've designed standardized workflows for marine mammal observation that are now used by partner First Nations communities. We build the protocols, obtain the permits, train the teams, and deliver the documentation that makes specialized applications repeatable and scalable.

Training and Capacity Building

As a recognized Level 1 Complex ground school provider, we train other operators to meet the same standards we hold ourselves to. Our 20-hour program combines classroom instruction with real field time - applying Transport Canada knowledge requirements to actual missions, procedures, and operational scenarios. We also help organizations build internal capability through consulting, SOP development, and long-term capacity building programs.

Long-Term Support and Quality Assurance

We don't disappear after delivering the data. Every project includes documentation of our methods, processing workflows, and quality control procedures—so you understand exactly what you're getting and can defend it when questions arise. For ongoing programs, we provide continued QA/QC oversight, helping you maintain data consistency across seasons, teams, and changing conditions. When you need to build internal capability, we stay involved through training, protocol refinement, and operational consulting until your team is fully self-sufficient. Our goal isn't a single transaction—it's a long-term partnership where your remote sensing program gets stronger over time.

Research & Development

Aeria maintains an active R&D program exploring emerging applications in remote sensing and airspace technology. Our current focus is VeilNode, a passive airspace awareness system developed in partnership with EagleEyes Search.

VeilNode uses multi-modal sensing—acoustic detection, visual tracking, and mesh networking—to detect and classify unmanned aircraft without active radar emissions. The system is designed for rapid deployment in remote or sensitive environments where conventional detection methods aren't practical.

This work reflects our belief that the remote sensing industry we operate in benefits from operators who also push the technology forward. What we learn in R&D informs how we approach operational challenges, and vice versa.
